Parent FAQ — Online English Classes

Who do you teach?

I work with students of all ages. My experience ranges from 4-year-olds to mid-40s, with most learners in elementary and secondary school and at university.

Where do lessons take place?

Online. I’m based in Vancouver and support students across Canada and abroad. Families choose this for the flexibility and for consistent, teacher-led instruction wherever they are.

How long is a lesson?

Lessons are typically 60–90 minutes, adjusted to the student’s needs, availability, and family preferences.

How will I see progress?

We track learning on a shared Kanban board. Both students and parents have access to weekly goals, work samples, and next steps—so progress is visible and accountable.

What skills and services do you offer?

Close reading, clear writing, confident speaking, and critical thinking for K–12 and university learners. I also provide SAT/IELTS preparation and university application coaching.

What’s your cancellation and rescheduling policy?

Unless due to an emergency or illness, cancellations on the day of the lesson are considered delivered.

If you need to change the time (outside emergencies/illness), please let me know at least one day in advance and we can arrange a make-up within the same month.

If a student is late without notifying me, I will wait 15 minutes; after that, the lesson is considered delivered.

What payment methods do you accept?

Interac e-Transfer, WeChat Pay, PayPal, and Province of BC Autism Funding.

Is there a trial lesson or consult?

Yes. Each prospective student has a 15–30-minute one-on-one call with me. We use this time to understand our goals and each other to see if we’re a good fit.

Do you offer group lessons?

Currently 1:1 only; small-group options are in development.

What technology is required?

Minimum: An internet connection and any device that can join calls for speaking and viewing my shared screen.

Ideal: A computer with a keyboard, mouse, and reliable internet connection for smoother reading, writing, and research tasks.
